MALAWI LAW COMMISSION RECOGNISED FOR EXCELLENCE IN PUBLIC SECTOR COMMUNICATIONS
Malawi Law Commission has been recognised and awarded Excellence in Public Sector Communications by the Public Relations Society of Malawi (PRSM).
The recognition celebrates the Commission’s innovative communication approaches in delivering its mandate of promoting public awareness of the Laws of Malawi.
Through its Civic Education and Public Relations initiatives, the Commission continues to take the law closer to the people by simplifying legal information and conducting public awareness campaigns. In recent months, these initiatives have reached over 1,500 community structures, 400 schools and more than 61,000 Facebook users.
The Commission has also adopted diverse and inclusive communication formats, including Braille materials, comic books and social media content, to make information on the law more accessible to different audiences.
Through its social media platforms, the Commission further provides opportunities for citizens to ask questions, engage directly with the Commission and receive information on laws affecting their lives.
The recognition by PRSM is a testament to the Commission’s continued efforts to make the law more accessible, understandable and relevant to the people of Malawi.
