Today, we are at Mapiko Village under T/A Kalonga in Salima District delivering a community legal empowerment session aimed at promoting access to justice. The training focuses on raising awareness of laws that protect people’s rights and strengthening community capacity to seek remedies when those rights are violated, with particular focus on women and girls.
This activity is part of the project “Bridging the Justice Gap: Strengthening Access to Justice for Marginalised Communities in Malawi.” The initiative is being implemented by Center for Human Rights Education, Advice and Assistance – Chreaa in collaboration with the Malawi Law Commission, with support from Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) and the Government of the Netherlands through UNDP Malawi.
