Vacancy Announcement for Principal Planning Officer

Applications are invited from suitably qualified applicants to fill the vacant position of
Principal Planning Officer (LC6) existing in the Law Commission.
PRINCIPAL PLANNING OFFICER (GRADE LC6)
Reporting to the Director of Corporate Services, the Principal Planning Officer shall be
responsible for planning activities of the Commission.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience
(i) A Bachelor’s Degree in Economics or Monitoring and Evaluation;
(ii) 4 years working experience; and
(iii) Those with a Master’s Degree in Economics will have an added advantage.

Principle Duties Include:
(i) Supervising and coordinating activities of planning, monitoring and evaluation in the
Commission;
(ii) Coordinating and preparing the Commission’s Annual Budgets and plan;
(iii) Designing the development of strategic plans that will guide the formulation of long
and medium strategies;
(iv) Analyzing and recommending the formulation of long and medium term development
strategies;
(v) Coordinating activity implementation of the strategic plan;
(vi) Reviewing development policies and aligning them with economic policy and
programs;
(vii) Conducting strategic policy analysis;
(viii) Interpreting national development policies to the Commission;
(ix) Preparing work plan for the Unit;

(x) Compiling reports of technical discussions, meetings and the Commission’s work and
progress reports; and
(xi) Mobilizing resources for activities of the Commission.
SALARY: A competitive salary will be offered in line with the Law Commission Staff Terms and
