Training with law enforcement officers on child and gender-related laws

This week, the Law Commission is holding training sessions with law enforcement officers on child and gender-related laws in the United Nations Joint Programme on Girls’ Education (UNJPGE) districts of Mangochi and Salima.

The sessions aim to equip law enforcement officers with knowledge of these laws to enhance child protection. In addition, the sessions aim to improve coordination in addressing cases of child violence in communities. These interactive sessions will also highlight gaps in addressing incidents of violence and discuss how law enforcement officers, including police officers, social welfare officers, and magistrates from various areas of Mangochi and Salima districts, can work collaboratively to overcome these challenges.

This activity is funded by UNICEF under the Joint Programme on Girls’ Education and conducted in partnership with the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Gender, Community Development and Social Welfare, and Malawi Police Service.
