The Law Commission is headed by the Law Commissioner, who is appointed by the President in consultation with the Judicial Service Commission under section 133(a) of the Constitution. The Commission comprises two main divisions: the Legal Service Division and the Corporate Service Division.
The core business of the Commission is undertaken by the Legal Service Division, whose mandate is broken into legal research; review of statutes; development of proposed legislation; and civic education.
The Corporate Service Division provides support services to the Legal Services Division on matters of administration; human resource management; accounting; ICT and procurement.
