Commemorating 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence

The Law Commission on 28th November, 2024, joined the Irish Consortium on Gender Based Violence and other stakeholders on a 4 kilometre walk to commemorate the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence (GBV).

The walk was also held to support Chisomo Kalumula, who is running 16 kilometres for 16 days to symbolise the 16 Days of Activism.

During the event, Law Commission presented on the initiatives it is currently implementing in raising awareness of laws that are designed to protect women and girls from violence.

Some of the stakeholders that participated include the Irish Embassy, Office of the Ombudsman – Malawi, and Malawi Legal Aid Bureau.
